Kate Burke

Kate grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, from a family with a long line of real estate brokerage background. She attended boarding school at Kent, and then went to the University of Georgia. She has recently moved from Midtown, Atlanta, to the Margaret Mitchell neighborhood with her husband, 5 year-old son, 3 year-old daughter, and their two dogs.

Selling residential real estate is a full-time career for Kate, not a part-time job.

Kate has created specialized systems, processes and checklists to assure a high level of service throughout the entire real estate relationship. Negotiations are perhaps the most critical state of real estate transactions. This is one arena that Kate brings much expertise because she has negotiated, on average, 50 contracts per year – that is almost one a week! In real estate there is no substitute for experience. Her numbers back her up. For the last three years she has been in the top 3 of her company for the number of transactions closed. Her business is based on repeat referrals. She stays fresh on technology and she looks at her listings with an attitude of “What more can I do to sell this house?”

When we decided it was time to move to be closer to work and school, I remembered that a friend had raved about her realtor when she sold her house last year. She gave us Kate Burke's contact information and we could not have been happier about our experience working with her. As our listing agent she gave such great advice about how to prep and stage our house that we weren't always sure we wanted to leave anymore! But as our buyer's agent she really zeroed in on what we needed and where it needed to be to remind us why moving was indeed the right decision for us. I hate surprises and with Kate there for us every step of the way while we sold one home and bought another there were none. She made sure we knew when inspectors were scheduled, how to navigate financing, what to expect at closing, how to get utilities turned on and so much more. I cannot say enough about how Kate's expertise, attentiveness and good humor made working with her such a good experience.

After 20 years in the same house and kids heading to college, it was time to go. We listed our house with Kate and she took the reins and told us exactly what we needed to do to get the house ready to sell. Kate is a straight-shooter, and she was very clear about what would be required in order to ensure a smooth sales process. She was professional, reassuring and best of all, was completely level-headed and funny. We all got along really well throughout the process and if Kate hadn’t been the person guiding the sale of our house, it’d likely still be for sale. During our closing, Kate was the only one in the room who had all of her ducks together and caught several glaring errors introduced by other parties. For our next step, we were buying a townhouse and fully intended to do so without an agent. It didn't take long for us to realize that there were many unanticipated issues and questions; we were in over our heads – Kate to the rescue! Again. I can’t say enough good things about her and am happy to now call her a good friend.
