    Alpharetta has so much to offer its residents!  Popular attractions in the area include Downtown Alpharetta, Avalon, North Point Mall, Verizon Amphitheater, Wills Park, and the Big Creek Greenway.  An abundance of shops and restaurants can be found in Downtown Alpharetta, Avalon, and North Point Mall.  Verizon Amphitheater is a music venue that hosts many concerts throughout the year.  Wills Park and the Big Creek Greenway offer everything you could need to stay active—pathways for bikers and joggers, playgrounds, equestrian facility, baseball fields, tennis courts, swimming pool, and a dog park.  As you can see, Alpharetta is a great place to live or visit!

  • Alpharetta History
    The City of Alpharetta was established on December 11, 1858.  Up until 1931, Alpharetta was the seat of government for Milton County.  Today, Alpharetta is part of the Fulton County district after Milton County was merged with Fulton County in 1931.

    Alpharetta is home to many public schools. Some schools within the area include Alpharetta Elementary, Creek View Elementary, Ocee Elementary, Autrey Mill Middle School, Haynes Bridge Middle School, Holcomb Bridge Middle School, Alpharetta High School, Centennial High School, Milton High School, Chattahoochee High School, Northview High School, and Cambridge High School.  Some private schools in the area include St. Francis Schools, The Lionheart School, and Mount Pisgah Christian School.  Several higher education schools found in Alpharetta include Georgia State University, Gwinnett Technical College, and Reinhardt University.
