top work 2019

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has once again named Dorsey Alston REALTORS as one of the best companies to work for in Atlanta.

Dorsey Alston ranked No. 2 in the midsize category, behind SalesForce, a tech company that is considered the world’s No. 1 customer relationship management platform.

This marks the fifth year in a row Dorsey Alston, which was founded in 1947 by Roy Dorsey and Robert Alston, has been recognized by the premier newspaper in the South as a Top Workplace.

“Of all the accolades and awards out there, this one is the most important to us,” said Michael Rogers, President and CEO of Dorsey Alston. “This is a true a measure of our company. Our agents and our staff submit their opinions about Dorsey Alston, and the AJC and their partners verify those statements. For the leadership of Dorsey Alston, it is humbling and appreciated. Being one of the best companies to work for is something we strive to accomplish every day.”

This is the ninth year the AJC and Energage have partnered to determine the Atlanta area’s Top Workplaces. For the 2019 rankings, 4,343 companies were nominated or asked to participate after metro area employees responded to print and online solicitations that began appearing in September. More than 48,837 metro workers participated in the survey.

The top 150 — ranked based on employee feedback scores — includes:

  • 20 large companies (500 or more employees)
  • 55 midsize companies (150-499 employees)
  • 75 small companies (149 or fewer employees)

The survey gathers responses to 24 factors covering seven areas, including organizational health factors relating to workplace culture. Employee engagement, company leadership and the basics (pay, benefits, flexibility, training and expectations) are among the questions.

Employers are ranked in groups of similar size, and those that score high enough are recognized as Top Workplaces.

A response rate of at least 35 percent of a company’s employees based in metro Atlanta was required. In addition, employers with 85 or fewer metro Atlanta workers had to have at least 30 responders. Energage also ran statistical tests to identify questionable results and disqualify any employers.

“Our culture is key to our success,” said Rogers. “And our culture is driven by the people who choose to work for and with Dorsey Alston REALTORS.”
