Shellie Salazar

Shellie grew up in small-town Dublin, Georgia where hard work and community involvement were ingrained at an early age. She went on to play college tennis at Furman University, where she graduated suma cum laude, majoring in Spanish. Shellie studied abroad in Mexico and Spain before continuing her education at the University of Georgia, earning a master’s degree in Spanish literature. She then interned with Mission to the World in Chile, working with college students and a local ministry to the blind. Upon arriving in Atlanta, Shellie worked with Tennis Academy of the South where she tutored, coached, and traveled with the nation’s top junior players.

Shellie later joined the faculty of Wesleyan School, where she taught high school Spanish, coached cross country, and served as Head Coach for varsity tennis. Throughout her seven years at Wesleyan, she became very connected with her students and their families and was involved in various civic and faith-based activities, including leading foreign mission trips each year. She later left Wesleyan School to stay at home with her son and help her husband, Jose, with his investments in rental property. Through working with him over the past eight years, she has learned to navigate the housing market and has participated in negotiating, buying, and selling dozens of homes.

Atlanta offers the perfect blend of traditional, old southern charm with the energizing, cultural diversity of an international city—Shellie loves to help clients find the perfect part of the city to make home. She has resided in Peachtree Hills and Brookhaven and now lives in Smyrna with her husband Jose and three children, Jose Jr., Emilia, and Samuel. Shellie serves on the Parents’ Council at Trinity Presbyterian Preschool. She and her family attend Church of the Apostles.
