Brookwood Hills
Neighborhood GuideA small, close-knit community, Brookwood Hills is comprised basically of 10 tree-lined streets all nestled together off Peachtree lying entirely in zip code 30309. Home to about 1,000 people, it can be found right across from Piedmont Hospital. Residents enjoy the amenities of Brookwood Hills Community Club which includes a park, pool, two pavilions, tennis courts and basketball goals.[1] It truly functions as the heart of the neighborhood and is consistently bustling with activity. The diverse
architecture of the homes in the area include Tudor, Georgian, modern, and colonial styles. In 1980, Brookwood Hills was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although Atlanta continues to experience rapid urban growth, the Brookwood Hills Civic Association exists to protect the history and special qualities of the neighborhood, as well as to operate the pool and recreational facilities.[2] Residents of this area enjoy all of the unique qualities that city living offers: some of the best shopping and dining in Atlanta. Despite the many changes in Atlanta during the 80-year existence of Brookwood Hills, the area still reflects the original 1920s vision and ambiance as envisioned by its creators.
