Meet Maggie Jones: Intown Agent Joins Dorsey Alston Realtors, Atlanta’s Oldest & Largest Independent Residential Real Estate Company

Last month, Dorsey Alston welcomed Maggie Jones to its growing roster of exemplary Realtors. Maggie is a Millennial, who has created a thriving intown real estate practice, from one bedroom condos to million-dollar-plus penthouses and homes.

Starting Out

Maggie launched her real estate career in August of 2016 and sold over $2.6 million in five months as a Realtor, earning Rookie of the Year. The next full year, she sold nearly  $7.5 million.

She was bitten by the real estate bug when she purchased her first house in Kirkwood more than eight years ago. Her agent showed her a house at the end of the showings that didn’t have photos. She was admittedly skeptical, but decided to see it anyways.

“As we drove up, the house was a wreck and covered in kudzu, but I immediately knew this was my house before even stepping inside,” she said “I shined that house up like a new penny and stayed active in watching what was happening to the neighborhood. When a huge new construction house broke ground next door, I knew it was time to hedge my bets and move on. I was under contract within three hours for nearly twice what I originally paid for the house.”

Why She Likes Intown Atlanta

Maggie mainly focuses on the “Intown” market, inside I-285.

“The city of Atlanta has really been coming into it’s own the last five years. It has never been more vibrant to live in all corners and not just certain areas,” she said. “I believe 2018 will be a fantastic year for the Intown market because the continual commercial development shows big business investment and residential upside typically goes hand in hand.”

She said each part of the Intown market has its own vibe, which the restaurants and homes reflect. Home buyers can associate with areas based on what it is they are looking for in a home and neighborhood.

“There is something for everyone from Chamblee to Kirkwood,” she said.

Joining a Family

Maggie said Dorsey Alston’s reputation and its size made it appealing. One of Atlanta’s oldest real estate brokerages, she liked the boutique feel.

“They have found a perfect balance of casting a wide net through the metro Atlanta area, but have not lost the personal touch that makes this industry special,” she said. “It’s like being a part of a tight-knit family. The office/brokers are there for the agents, staff and clients unlike any office environment I have ever been a part of.”

Real Estate is in Her Genes

Maggie’s grandmother started selling residential real estate in her 50s in Newport Beach, California, so she thought it was something she could do later in life.

About a year ago, her now-husband saw she was unhappy in her career and encouraged her to follow her dream to be a real estate agent.

“I am someone who sees things through and had never taken such a risk, but I am so thrilled that I took a leap of faith!” she said.

Who Is Maggie Jones?

She is originally from San Antonio. Her mother grew up in Buckhead, so Atlanta was a natural choice for her after college. She is a proud Ole Miss alumna.

She lives in Morningside with her husband Alex and their Saint Bernard, Izzy. They love to travel the world and try and go on one big trip a year and soak up as much of that countries culture as possible. They also enjoy entertaining and cooking at home and going to concerts.

What Has She Learned So Far?

“Time and attention to detail are what set a great agent apart from the rest. I base my business on referrals, so my level of service is why clients refer me again and again.”

Please join us in welcoming Maggie to the Dorsey Alston family!
