From ice skating rinks and cups of hot cocoa to arts and crafts and eco-friendly jewelry, several local institutions have turned themselves inside out for the season. They are holding open-air markets with all the trimmings during this most unusual holiday season.

It is a coincidence that just in time for peak outdoor dining due to the pandemic, the center unveiled a handsome 60-foot long table made out of a 140-year-old oak tree that had stood on the corner of West Paces Ferry Road and Andrews Drive since 1880.

With inventory of homes for sale down, property values experienced strong gains in July, August and September. Total home sales rose almost 10% over Q3 2019 with home prices gaining 12.4% over the same period.

One of the significant impacts of the Coronavirus is families spending a premium on outdoor amenities like swimming pools. Over the last few months, FMLS data shows in the 10-county metro area buyers paid, on average, $701,495 for a house with a pool. The average for homes without a pool in the same area was $358,654.
